Intensify the Promotion of TS16949 Quality Management System

Since the introduction of TS16949:2009 quality management system in Satir from 2012, and the receipt of certificate in Jan. 2013, the system has been in operation for 3 years. This January we succeeded in passing the check for changing the certificate, and enter into the 2nd round of operation period. This system has brought about many advantages and obvious benefits to our company, which were mainly demonstrated in the following aspects:

 

First, it will be good for us to become the supplier for car buyers, even car manufacturers. Through the joint efforts made by the management team and the automotive business department, our company has signed cooperation agreements with several independent brand car manufacturers in China, and has started bulk supply for a few car manufacturers.


Second, it can increase the work efficiency in the company. TS16949 not just tells a company the requirements for the quality management system procedures, but also puts forward many effective and viable control procedures and methods, like Advanced Product Quality Planning, Measurement System Analysis, Production Part Approval Process, ect. Using these methods in a reasonable manner can effectively increase work efficiency, and boost a company’s market competitiveness. 


Third, it helps to prevent product flaws and reduce unaccepted products. TS16949 quality management system control many procedures from product planning, design and development, manufacturing process design, production process confirmation, analysis and control, correction and prevention of unaccepted products, etc. It can identify and analyze the flaws in the product realization process, formulate measures accordingly, and prevent disqualification, reduce unaccepted products, waste products loss and cost, thus greatly improve the products quality. 


It’s not our final purpose to make our quality management system pass the check and receive certification, while our purpose is to facilitate our work through the TS16949 quality management system, so that position responsibilities are clearer, working procedures are more distinct, working standards are more unified, and stuff quality will be higher. Therefore, we will step up our efforts to promote the quality management system.


First, pay attention to the continuous effectiveness of quality management system. After an operation period, we review the operation process, combined with the non-conformance rectification put forward through internal and external examination, make necessary modifications to the unreasonable items in the process documents or operation instruction, and establish a complete and true-to-reality quality management system. We should avoid the so-called “double layers of leather” phenomenon in which quality system is just a formality, and ensure the effectiveness and adaptability of quality system. We will try to increase the frequency of internal examination, and rolling type examination if necessary. 


Second, continue to strengthen quality training. Our quality management department not just carries out basic training of quality management for the new employees irregularly, but also conducts trainings in different forms. With the release of the new standard ISO9001:2015, our company will invite widely-known training organization to carry out a training for all stuff. We will also conduct training of TS16949 five key tools, targeting the employees involved with design and development, craftsmanship, quality and production of automotive products. 


Third, insist on the implementation of quality monthly report system. We implemented the quality monthly report system in 2015, collecting altogether over 30 quality problems, most of which have been effectively solved. And we will continue to implement this system this year, in the hope that through the analysis and improvement of these quality problems, we can avoid these problems in the development process of new products. 


Fourth, combine it with performance assessment. We will list each employee’s degree of support and cooperation to the quality management system as an item in the performance assessment, and link it directly to each employee’s income. Quality management grade takes up a certain proportion in the merit pay. 


Through the effective operation of TS16949 quality management system, and combined with other quality management systems, our company can standardize the management, increase the operation efficiency and market competitiveness, and lay down a solid foundation for the long-term sustainable development while continue to improve ourselves in practice.
